Saddles

Fhoenix Fits All Saddle

The new concept saddle, the Fhoenix Fits-All, is a revolutionary design unlike any other saddle on the market. The manufacturing process is unique in saddle making, the Fheonix being a part-treed saddle. Unlike other half-treed where it is at the front, the Fheonix part-tree is in the cantle end. This forms the rigid cantle and seat support for the rider, also ensuring that the gullet does not collapse.

The Fheonix saddle also has a flexible pommel that expands and contracts automatically to accommodate most horse shapes. This flexibility allows your horse to use his back muscles. One of the first things people comments on when testing a saddle is how much freer and forward the horse feels as he can now start using his back.

Rider Position

The seat has been designed to allow the rider's thighs to drop easily into a more vertical knee position. The stirrup bars are set back, as in all Heather Moffett designed saddles, to allow the correct heel - hip- shoulder - ear alignment. This allows riders to concentrate on riding and not trying to pull themselves out of the saddle, or worse still, using their horse's mouth to lever themselves out of the saddle.

Materials

The whole seat and flexible front arch are made from 45mm thickness of the Seatbone Saver memory foam, into which the rider sinks, giving great depth of seat and exceptional comfort. Unlike most treeless saddles on the market, the design features a 'twist' enabling the rider to drop the thigh deeply, and not feel straddled, especially on a wider horse. The 'twist' and core are built up from layers of materials, tested and chosen for their shock absorbing and pressure resisting properties. This enables the saddle to flex with every oscillation of the horse's back, giving great freedom of movement, with no restriction of the shoulders or hindrance of the lifting of the horse's back.

The Suberpanel saddle does not feature a gullet, which on the normal Prolite panelled Fheonix is there for lateral stability rather than spinal clearance. The channelled centre of the Suberpanel increases the lateral stability still further and is only present for this purpose. The panel attaches by neat leather straps, through the 'D' rings under the skirts, and to the additional 'D' at the back of the saddle.

Fheonix Suberpanel Saddle

Construction

The Fheonix Suberpanel saddle has been developed in conjunction with Suberpad designer, David Ahn. David has been marketing the Suberpad since 1996,so the pad is very well tried and tested with excellent testimonials. The British army has used the pad extensively under treed saddles, also using thermal imaging to test the efficiency in pressure and weight distribution, giving exceptional results.

The suberpanel is filled using cork granules, much like a beanbag. The panel is compartmentalised avoiding the granules shifting to one end or side of the panel. This enables the panel to mould perfectly to your horses back, helping reduce saddle slippage further.

The saddle needs no adjustment when switching from one horse to another, unless the horse has exceptionally high withers and atrophy, when we would recommend our Hi-wither Suberpanel, which is cut to permit the panel to accommodate high withers, but still come far enough down the horse's sides to fill in any atrophy.

Benefits

Comfortable and Cost Effective

Underside of panel

The Fheonix saddle range offers your horse unparalleled comfort, enabling your horse to use his back muscles without the restrictions of an ill-fitting treed saddle. Just imagine lugging around an ill-fitting backpack, never mind being asked to gymnastic exercises. The placement of the stirrup bars puts the rider in the correct position, enabling you to give correct aids.

The Fheonix offers a great return on investment. Your saddle will never need re-flocking and will fit multiple horses and shapes without requiring adjustment. If you purchase a new horse there is no need to purchase a new saddle to fit the horse. The Fheonix range of saddles has been sold extensively throughout the UK and Europe.

Try before you buy

The Fheonix FA and suberpanel saddle are available to hire. Your horse will tell you which saddle he prefers to be ridden in.
