Equisimulator

Equisimulator

The first Equisimulator in Australia is based at our premises in Galston, Sydney.

The Equisimulator is a machine, which simulates the movement of the horse and is used for teaching the rider to synchronise their own movements with those of the horse. In this way, the rider learns far more quickly to adhere to the saddle, enhancing safety and enjoyment and also, most importantly, saving the horse much discomfort from the rider bouncing about on his back.

Making sense

We show the rider the precise movements of the lower back and pelvis, "hands on". Here Paul is demonstrating the impact on the horse's back of the correct rising trot vs. sitting down at the back of the saddle as many riders do.

Instead of the instructor telling the student to 'sit deeper', 'relax your lower back' or 'follow the movement', all of which are more or less meaningless to the novice rider, we are able to show the rider precisely how to mirror the horse's movements, in a fraction of the normal time taken to learn by the old 'practise makes perfect' methods of teaching.

Getting Results

Since its arrival the equisimulator has been in great demand. Riders are finding that it is a cost- and time-efficient way of improving their riding. With the time you normally spend tacking up or hosing down being saved, a half hour lesson can easily be fitted into a busy day.

Booking a lesson or a workshop

The equisimulator is available for lessons to individuals or small groups. The first lesson is typically an hour long to allow for theory and practical. Subsequent lessons are 30 mins.

We also organise specific equisimulator days for local riding clubs, pony clubs and agistment centres. We have held workshops at Northside Riding Club and Springfield Trails in Yarramalong and hosted private groups.
